We are proud that World Yoshukai Karate Kobudo Organization is the only karate association recongnized and certified by Yoshukai founder Grandmaster Katsuo Yamamoto.  The organization is led by Vice President Shihan Hiroaki Toyama and Vice President Shihan Mike Culbreth.

WYKKO now has more than 1,000 members in more than 30 branches throughout the United States, including Florida, Alabama, Texas, Georgia, California, Missouri, Nebraska and New Mexico.

Yoshukai Karate can trace its lineage back to the founding fathers of karate in Okinawa over three hundred years ago. The Japanese Grandmaster, Katsuoh Yamamoto, began his formal training in the Chito-Ryu style under Dr. Chitose. In 1959, he opened his own school in Kitakyushu, Japan. From 1960 to 1963, Yamamoto was considered the top competitor in Japan. In 1963 Dr. Chitose pronounced him the Grandmaster of the Yoshukai style of karate.

2008 Summer Camp

Hu-Kaicho Toyama and Hu-Kaicho Culbreth would like to personally thank everyone who participated in this year's Summer Camp in Dothan.  The event ran smoothly and everyone seemed to have learned something new and have a great time doing it.  Special thanks goes out to everyone who helped set-up and clean-up the Westgate Park Recreation Center.

2008 Traditional Tournament/National Championship

Congratulations to Team Atlanta.  Their perfomance at the tournament has earned them the honor to call themselves the 2008 WYKKO National Championship Dojo!
